The Saviour (Los Olvidados) is a cross between the story Slumdog Millionaire & City of God with a similarly beautiful landscape and intriguing culture. Inspired by real events that occured during the 12 year 'Forgotten War' in El Salvador.

A contemporary story, set in Calgary about the oddball friendship between GWEN COLLINS, a homely and abused girl of 13, and ISAAC WEBSTER, a big Cree Native who drives taxi and suffers occasional bouts of schizophrenia. Gwen attempts suicide, but Isaac intervenes. Their friendship gradually develops and Gwen begins to enjoy life again. However, outside forces conspire to disrupt their quirky bond – Gwen’s abusive widower-father, the well-meaning school counselor and social workers – all suspect Isaac and Gwen’s relationship is something sinister and perverted. By the story’s climax, it is Gwen who saves Isaac from himself.
